SUMMER TIME VISITORS - PLEASE NOTE THAT LESSON SPOTS AND

RATES ARE DIFFERENT FOR ONE TIME BOOKINGS.

Our lesson program is based on true horsemanship and classical riding principles. We are dedicated to developing a well-rounded equestrian with a strong foundation. Besides riding, our students also learn the fundamentals of horse care, horsemanship, groundwork, training, etc. We teach both children and adults, beginner-advanced levels. Currently we offer private lessons, semi-private lessons and small groups.

Private lessons are available for adults and children 5+ years old. They are 45 minutes to an hour long (depending on the focus for the lesson) and include grooming, tacking up, and riding, unless the student is fully independent and is tacked up and ready to go by their lesson time. These lessons are great for students needing more focused or specialized attention, students with their own horse, or for more advanced students with very specific goals.

Semi-private lessons and group lessons are available for adults and children 7+ years old. These lessons have 2-4 students in each class and are an hour long. Aside from the riding instruction portion, students spend time to get their horses groomed and tacked up before, then finish with a cool down session. These lessons are a fun way to learn from each other, work on similar goals, learn to handle horses around others, and bond together.
We Teach:
  • Horsemanship, groundwork, in-hand, and basic liberty work
  • Training techniques
  • General Western riding (pleasure, reining basics, basic western dressage, ranch work, trail)
  • Barrel Racing
  • Beginner roping (on the ground & roping dummy)

  • Intermediate- Advancing skills such as expanding the use of riding aids, transition work, collection, etc. and choosing a discipline(s)

Program Highlights:
  • Safety and good horsemanship is of the utmost importance therefore students are taught horse body language and behavior (ear, eye, & body movements, muscle tension, and other signals)
  • Our students are taught correct foundational skills
  • Youth benefit greatly from our program- they build strong relationships with their horses, instructors, and other students. They develop important life skills such as responsibility, leadership, confidence, dedication, etc.
  • We truly believe kids are so capable if allowed to be - we don't just give "pony rides" - we teach even the youngest students how to do things correct and become independent in order to ride on their own
  • Our lesson program includes riding, groundwork, horsemanship, hands-on and classroom type lessons (it isn't always riding)
  • We have a very supportive and friendly barn family
  • We provide our students with many different opportunities to expand their horse knowledge and enjoyment (horsemanship lessons, camps & clinics, ladies groups, horse leasing, quality barn & horse time, etc.)
  • Students learn responsibilities of owning a horse, safe handling skills, equine knowledge, the proper skills and coordination to communicate with a horse, leadership skills, etc.
  • We expose our students to a wide variety of horses and riding locations so they can learn to ride in many different situations
  • We teach our students the "Why's?" so they will be able to problem solve- is the horse being stubborn, afraid, testing the rider, in a playful mood, lost their concentration, received incorrect signals, are confused, bored, ornery, tired, hurt, etc.
