Riding Lessons

Schedule Now
Our lesson program is based on true horsemanship and classical riding principles. Dedicated to developing a well-rounded equestrian with a strong foundation. Besides riding, our students also learn the fundamentals of horse care, horsemanship, groundwork, etc. We offer group lessons for students 5+ years old. Group lessons have 2 to 4 students in each class and are an hour long. Aside from the riding portion students have time to get their horses groomed, tacked up, etc. Group lessons are a fun atmosphere for learning from each other, working on similar goals, learning to handle horses around others, bond together, etc. Private lessons are 45 minutes to an hour long and include grooming, tacking up, and riding- unless the student is fully independent and is tacked up and ready to go by their lesson time. These lessons are great for students needing more focused or specialized attention, students with their own horse, or for more advanced students with very specific goals.
We Teach:
  • Horsemanship, groundwork, in-hand, and liberty work
  • Western (equitation and pleasure, reining basics, western dressage, trail)
  • Speed events (barrel racing, poles, and omoksee)
  • Beginner English (basic equitation, intro to Dressage and intro to jumping)

Riding Levels:
  • Beginner- little to no experience, learning the basics and building a solid foundation, work at the walk and learning to trot then continuing to improve skills at the trot, learning to canter when ready
  • Advanced Beginner- Improving skills and riding position, developing strong leadership skills and confidence, continuing work on cantering
  • Intermediate- Advancing skills such as expanding the use of riding aids, transition work, collection, etc. and choosing a discipline(s)

  • We expose our students to a wide variety of horses and riding locations so they can learn to ride in many different situations
  • We teach our students the "Why's?" so they will be able to problem solve- is the horse being stubborn, afraid, testing the rider, in a playful mood, lost their concentration, received incorrect signals, are confused, bored, ornery, tired, hurt, etc?
  • Students are given opportunities to showcase their skills such as horse shows and competitions
Horsemanship Nights

Our horsemanship nights are a huge supplemental part of our lesson program but also an affordable option to be involved with horses. To become a good horseman it requires passion, dedication, and lots of practice. This is perfect for students who have a deep love for horses that want to learn all aspects of horses and turn it into a lifestyle. We want our students to really progress and practice their skills and knowledge.

We teach all aspects of horsemanship - horse safety, horse behavior & body language, handling & groundwork, correct riding, horse care & barn chores, etc. Think of these as mini horse camp days! Horsemanship nights are scheduled twice a month on Fridays from 4:30-7:30 pm.
